Spituk Monastery, also known as Spituk Gompa, is one of the oldest monasteries in Ladakh. Situated around 8 km from Leh, it sits atop a rocky hill and offers commanding views of the Indus Valley.

Founded in the 11th century, the monastery follows the Gelugpa (Yellow Hat) sect of Tibetan Buddhism and houses ancient artifacts, statues, and sacred masks.

Spituk is especially famous for the annual Spituk Gustor Festival, which attracts visitors from across Ladakh.
